From Ice Skates to Ice Cream
Marla and Tommy Kaine, the new owners of Village Treats ice cream parlor in Narberth, are happy to announce their grand re-opening! Doors will open Friday March 9th at 12pm.
Featuring hand scooped Bassett’s Ice Cream, and Little Baby’s non-dairy 100% vegan ice cream. Also serving shakes, sundaes, floats, custom ice cream cakes, fresh baked cookies, brownies and baked goods.
The Kaines have been immersed in the local community for many years. Tommy has coached figure skating to all ages at the Philadelphia Skating Club in Ardmore since 1981. In addition, he owned a recording studio on Cricket Ave. where he engineered records and managed artists for many years. Marla, a former professional ballet dancer taught ballet in the area for over 20 years, and is the owner of Swan Dancewear, right next door to Village Treats.
Narberth has a special place in the Kaine’ hearts. As a youth, Marla trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet on the hill, and held her first jobs in town. She scooped ice cream (the shop was in in the same location as Swan Dancewear & Village Treats), worked at the Lunch Box, Narberth Theater, and Legacy Photo. The big, little town was a home away from home. Many years later, Tommy and Marla met on a blind date in Narberth, and the rest is history! Narberth had worked it’s magic.
Marla and Tommy share a history of dedication to their students, customers, and friends, and look forward to adding to their community, and Narberth memories through Village Treats.
Spring Hours are Sun-Thurs 12pm-9pm, Fri & Sat 12pm-10pm.
